Panasonic airs first DR spots

Consumer electronics maker Panasonic Corp has launched its first direct response TV ad campaign with the introduction of two new product categories. The company has started airing 60-second and 120-second spots for its Finishing Touches Pore Cleanser skin care device and HEPA-Logic Air Purifier electronic air filter, respectively. Panasonic said that the DRTV spots would provide a lengthier explanation of the products compared to 30-second TV spots. The DRTV campaign was handled by the Tyee Group of Portland, OR.

NFL launches first Webcasts to global markets
Article Abstract:
The National Football League has launched is first live Webcast of several fames in the Netherlands, Austria and Singapore on Sep 26, 1999. The Webcast were offered subscribers on broadband Internet service firm Chello Broadband NV in Holland and Austria, while SingTel Matrix delivered the Webcast through high-speed digital subscriber lines to 50,000 Singapore households. The Webcasts carried the English play-by-play announcements by Fox and CBS.
