ITT Fluid acquisition plan would merge Rule, Jabsco
Article Abstract:
Upper Saddle River, NJ-based ITT Fluid Technology Corp.'s tentative deal to buy Gloucester, MA-based Rule Industries Inc., a major marines product producer, from Kennametal Inc. would integrate Rule with its Hoddesson, UK-based ITT Jabsco operation. Aside from being the world's biggest pump producer, ITT Fluid Technology is one of the three core businesses of ITT Industries. The acquisition, which needs government approvals, will boost ITT Fluid Technology's position in the specialty marine industry. The merged Rule and Jabsco will provide specialty products ranging from anchors, compasses and pumps to blowers, lights, waste systems and winches.
