Internet market defies Japan's stumbling economy

Priceline.com has formed an online Japanese venture with Softbank's electronic commerce subsidiary to be called priceline.com Japan Corp. The new company will bring the 'name your own price' concept to the sale of airplane tickets and hotel reservations to Japanese travelers. priceline.com Japan will license the business method and technology of its American parent. On the other hand, priceline.com will receive an annual licensing fee for the use of its intellectual property.

Todito revamps shopping channels
Article Abstract:
Online shopping portal Todito.com has revamped its Compras and Subastas electronic commerce channels to give more Web-based buying options to Spanish-speaking customers in North America. The Compras or virtual mall channel features 110 stores with more than 18,000 products for sale while the Subastas auction channel has been enhanced and expanded. Todito has also started an interactive entertainment channel, which will screen Hispanic actors for TV Azteca's acting school.
