Jubilee Line crisis as Health and Safety Executive orders safer glass
Article Abstract:
The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has instructed London Underground to replace all its toughened glass paneling with laminated glass after a panel shattered at the Stratford Jubilee Line station. The replacement exercise is expected to cost millions of pounds sterling and the HSE has given London Underground only two weeks to come up with a replacement programme. Glass experts claim laminated glass could cause more injuries if dropped from a height.
