Media auction boasts strong online bidding

Media Auction, a company based in San Diego, CA, has announced the online bidding service it launched in May 1998 has generated response that exceeded its expectations. The service, which is available in 30-minute time slots, offers media buyers that partake in inventory bidding to get remnant time at discounts of 70% to 90% of rate card prices. Media President Bob Greenstone declined to disclose the number of media buys that have been completed via the firm's online bidding service but noted that already 80 buyers representing 230 stations and $500,000 million in buying capacity have signed for the service.

Fanball.com introduces hockey, racing coverage

Fanball.com has started covering NHL and NASCAR events through its Web site. Robert Kelen, Fanball's VP for business development, said the company intends to concentrate on its current market of 30-million-plus fantasy league participants.
