Michael Ankers
Article Abstract:
UK Construction Products Association (CPA) Chief Executive Michael Ankers believes that there are three ways in which the CPA will be better than the Building Material Producers federation. He states that the CPA will lobby more actively, will supply members with better market information and will assist materials producers and suppliers in focusing their efforts to implement Egan. He indicates that the CPA wants the government to invest in infrastructure and continually consider reducing the regulatory burden on industry.

Article Abstract:
UK construction firm Gryphon employed an unusual prefabricated roofing technique when putting a new roof on a building in London. Builders in the Netherlands have been using the prefabricated roofing panel methods since 1969, although this is the first time it has been used in the UK. The average size of a panel is 6 meters by 2.43 meters, with each weighing up to a third of a tonne. Each panel is fully insulated with a breathable membrane and vapour barrier. The engineers found the panels quick and easy to use.

Article Abstract:
The implementation of a carefully designed web site is imperative for successful construction firms, according to web site designer Chris Smosarki, who charges up to 5,600 pounds sterling to design a construction firm web site. It is vitally important to choose the right web-site name, so potential customers are able to locate and use your web site. Construction firm Tarmac established a web-site at a cost of 50,000 pounds sterling in 1997.
