It is vital to emphasize that surveying is a wide-ranging career involving construction, property and finance, according to Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Junior Organisation Chair Jacqueline Fearon. She feels that a quantity surveyor's training is so diverse in all areas of the construction industry that it is possible to move into other areas of the development process. She states that it is important for the surveying profession to welcome people from other industries. She indicates that involvement with the RICS can be extremely beneficial for surveyors, allowing them to gain a wide range of skills.
