Kent & Spiegel assets for sale in bankruptcy auction

Article Abstract:

Kent and Spiegel Direct Inc, a Culver City, CA-based bankrupt direct television marketing firm, is liquidating its assets, including the Hollywood Glamour Patch infomercial. The liquidation is made possible after Kent & Spiegel succeeded in converting its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing into Chapter 7 on Jun 14, 1999. Before it went bankrupt, Kent and Spiegel once posted retail sale of more than $100 million a year and was known as a major infomercial firm.

MSGI readies sale of money-losing fulfillment co

Article Abstract:

Marketing Services Group Inc., a New York-based direct marketing company, intends to sell a majority stake in Metro Fulfillment Inc., its unprofitable fulfillment subsidiary based in Valencia, CA. MSGI Chmn and CEO Jeremy Barbera says MFI's financial haemorrhage is already seriously impacting MSGI's balance sheet. MSGI had a net loss of about $1.5 million for the quarter ended Dec 31, 1998.
