IFX to build Latin-American ISP network
Article Abstract:
IFX Corp of Chicago, IL, intends to build the first regional Internet service provider (ISP) network in Latin America. The company is snapping up ISPs in Colombia, Venezuela and four other countries and plans to establish ISPs in regions where there is none. Company president and CEO Joel Eidelstein said the company is first concentrating on smaller markets and will only begin to focus on Brazil in the third quarter of 1999 at the earliest.

Media syndication to manage GE work
Article Abstract:
General Electric has picked New York-based Media Syndication Global to launch a series of mail cooperatives and to run two other direct response initiatives. The co-ops are scheduled to be dropped in fall 1999, with about 250,000 mailings to be sent to each of the outdoor enthusiasts, kitchen/home and PC/technology user segments. Target respondents will be culled from GE's 30-million-name proprietary database.
