Insurer Outsources to better serve older customers

Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New York has outsourced some of its services to Emoryville, CA-based Age Wave Impact to serve its senior clients better. Age Wave, which required its staff to undergo a senior sensitivity program, will handle inquiry calls from older clients about Empire Blue Cross' Medicare plans. The call center vendor will also provide technical assistance to Empire Blue Cross, such as setting up an appointment if the prospect is eligible and sending out brochures if the caller only requires information.
