Lifeserv reaches new parents, home buyers

LifeServ of Chicago, IL, has recently rolled out a new software product that will target expectant parents. The new software, dubbed BabyServ, will enable couples to receive product offers aimed at the different stages of a baby's life based on demographic information and product requests they supply when registering for free life-event planning software and a CD-ROM at www.babyserv.com. LifeServ said it will use print, television, direct mail and the Web to promote the new product. ;

Barcode system links catalogs to e-commerce

CodeCorp of Charleston, SC, has introduced its innovative barcode system for electronic commerce called Zapcode. To use the system, a customer employs a $100 Zapscanner connected to a computer to reach a print catalog's Zapcode that automatically brings up the cataloger's e-commerce order page. The Zapcode for each product is scanned onto an order form with the SKU number and quantity.
