New HUD loan limits can aid developers
Article Abstract:
The Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 207 program offers a new loan schedule that would enable housing developers to finance their housing land-lease communities. The revised program will use the high cost percentage factor to rause the maximum loan per lot, depending on the project's site. Developers may avail of the program for their community rehabilitation, expansion or development projects. HUD 207's low interest rates, longer payment periods and allowance of subsequent purcahsers to continue loan payments makes it a cost-effective financing option for housing developers.

First-time home buyers on the rise in Texas
Article Abstract:
The increase in first-time home purchases in Texas may be attributed to reduced unemployment and lower real estate interest rates. Statistics for 1991 show that existing homes priced at $69,000 or less account for more than half of home sales. Homes selling from $70,000 to $99,999 represents 22.6% of total sales, while homes selling for $200,000 and more accounts for 6.1% of home sales. In Texas the 1991 median home price is $69,000.
