'No forest of towers' says City planner

Article Abstract:

Architects Santiago Calatrava have submitted a plan to the City of London for the extension of the Britannic Tower to 204 meters in height. This development by Wates City would be the City's tallest building. However, the planning officer does not anticipate an influx of applications for tall buildings due to funding restraints whereby banks require a tenancy deal before they will lend money. Two other major planning applications are expected by the City of London and there is the possibility of the 92-storey Millennium Tower development from Foster and Partners.
