Slab happy

Article Abstract:

Aerated concrete panels are becoming popular in the UK. They have been employed in Europe since the 1960's and can be used as an alternative to concrete walls, floors and roofs. They are fast to install, easy to handle, light, cheap and reduce overall foundation loads. The main drawback is that they are not covered by a British Standard although there is a European one in the offing. Thermolite has a monopoly on supply and it acts as sub-contractor, provides advice, produces drawings and installs.
