MHI voices objections to HUD wind standards
Article Abstract:
The Manufactured Homes Inc (MHI) protested the Dept of Housing and Development (HUD)'s move to implement its proposed wind standards for manufactured houses. MHI Pres Jerry Connors cited the lack of public hearings and the need to conduct thorough analyses that would validate the proposals. He stressed the need to prioritize safety issues and give manufacturers time to comply with the new regulations. The immediate implementation of the HUD's new standards will be costly to manufacturers and to the manufactured homes industry as a whole.
