Rough-running FICHTs plague OMC

Waukegan, IL-based engine manufacturer Outboard Marine Corp (OMC) has taken charges against earnings in 4th qtr 1998 and expects to take additional charges in 1st qtr 1999 to correct problems with its FICHT technology. OMC adopted the state-of-the-art, direct-engine technology to bring its two-stroke outboard engines into compliance with federal clean- air standards. OMC spkesman Gary Beckett declined to say how much OMC has spent on FICHT-related retrofitting and re-engineering.

Miami river trying to shed it's 'Vice' image
Article Abstract:
The Miami River Corrider Urban Infill Plan has been developed to clean, repair and and develop the Miami river for business development purposes. The plan will be put to implementation only when the government gives it's approval. The government on it's part has asked for an economic study reflecting the purpose of the business development. The various features of the plan has been discussed.

Bahamas permit fees keeping cruises away
