Senate posted to attack sweeps methods
Article Abstract:
The US Senate permanent committee on investigations has conducted hearings relating to the marketing practices in the direct mail industry. Some senators recommended banning the practice of sending multiple solicitations of the same sweepstakes in different geographic presentations. The legislators are also supporting a strong law that would combat marketing campaigns that entice consumers to buy unwanted goods such as magazines, trinkets or coupons and discount voucher books.
