Article Abstract:
Alan Crane, aged 48, took over as chief executive of Travers Morgan, London, UK, building consultant, in mid-March 1993, after 20 years with Bovis, UK, building contractor, to the surprise of the 900 employees at Travers Morgan and former Bovis colleagues. Crane plans to make Travers Morgan more profitable and to expand worldwide, particularly in Asia Pacific, but hopes for no more than consolidation in Europe. For the UK, he plans a shift in client base and involvement in environmental work, assessment, the power sector, planning, and clean-up projects. Travers Morgan now has an undisclosed profit on 42 million pounds sterling annual turnover, vs a loss of 1.1 million pounds sterling on turnover of 32.6 million pounds sterling in 1991.
