Do or die
Article Abstract:
Many large building contractors have gone out of business during the recent recession in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Alfred McAlpine has to close its building division in 1995. The city is hoping that more companies will be encouraged to take up partnerships or repeat business in a bid to stimulate strong growth in the industry. Wimpey and Tarmac swapped business divisions during 1995 in an effort to retain their market position.
