The 64- page catalog, whose cover contains a special message from celebrity owner and founder Robert Redford, showcases exlcusive, high-priced merchandise, including Native American handcrafted jewelry, Berskshire glass, a rare curio cabinet, scrap metal sculptures and Mulholland Brothers leather club chair. Sundance will send the catalog to 40,000 of its best customers.

Banana Republic welcomes spring early with catalog

Banana Republic will release the first of its two spring catalogs next to an estimated one million consumers. The catalogs have been redesigned with the intention to integrate its retail, catalog and Web site business operations. The firm wants to increase customer convenience in a business where shipping, returns and inventory control are crucial to success. The catalogs are designed, copywritten and produced inhouse with freelance artists, photographers and makeup artists.

Canadian magazine targets U.S. 20-somethings

BVHR of Toronto, Ontario, will launch a US edition of its magazine on digital culture, Shift. The launching will be promoted through traditional direct mail and the Internet. Three test packages will be mailed to 160,000 names using 30 rented lists. The packages include a cover letter, brochure and an eight-page magalog containing spreads that introduce the magazine's content. The magazine will compete with the likes of Spin, Maxim and Details.
