Survey reveals key builder concerns for 1993

Article Abstract:

The survey conducted by the National Association of Home Builders of the United States (NAHB) during its 49the annual convention is presented. Results show that builders rate the lumber price crisis as the most significant problem for 1993, followed by land costs, infrastructure and impact fees and workers' compensation costs. Builders also foresee sales reductions with the elimination of mortgage interest reductions and considered the permit approval process as the greatest impediment to affordable housing. They see the an improved economy and an increase in housing starts in 1993.
