Tales from the riverbank
Article Abstract:
Some new housing developments alongside the River Thames, London, England, are of more innovative designs than buildings previously built in the area. The government has encouraged mixed-use developments, such as the 30 million pounds sterling project at St George's Wharf, Vauxhall, which includes offices, shops and apartments. Some developers are constructing stepped buildings to take advantage of the view of the river which adds a premium to the value of a property. The developments often have to include affordable housing in order to obtain planning permission.

The great exhibition
Article Abstract:
Construction contractors in the UK are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of client presentations as the climate in which they operate becomes fiercely competitive. Leading contractors are now spending a great deal of time and money on preparing client presentations, and some are even ensuring that staff have specific training in this area. They realise that preparation is vital to the success of a presentation and that they must believe firmly in what they are saying.
