The producers from hell
Article Abstract:
The television program 'Living with the Enemy', made by the British Broadcasting Corporation Ltd, brought two feminist journalists and two male builders together for a week. The builders, who were challenged to live and work with two journalists, admitted the television producers set up some of the incidents shown in the program. They also had to be prompted on some questions. The women felt the end program was quite truthful. All participants were paid 250 pounds sterling each for the week and the building company received 500 pounds sterling.

Game over for lottery architects
Article Abstract:
Some UK architect firms are becoming disillusioned with lottery-funded building projects, after many have failed to obtain payment leaving them in serious financial trouble. Lottery funding for capital projects has fallen to 582 million pounds sterling in 1998 from 1.4 billion pounds sterling in 1997 as a direct result of government spending placing revenue projects as the main recipients of lottery funding. The average size of a lottery grant has fallen from 10 million pounds sterling to between two and three million pounds sterling in 1999.
