Cruisers Yachts of Oconto, WI, said that it expects sales to increase 33% for the 1999 model year during its "Reach for the Stars" dealers meeting on Jul. 19 to 22, 1998, at Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Red Wing, MN. The privately-owned company is building sought-after boats from 25 ft to 50 ft at its 350,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility in Oconto. At the meetimg, Cruisers unveiled a new warranty-reimbursement package, aimed to help dealers recover their cost. The company has also improved its dealership organization, which now consists of roughly 60 dealers across the globe.

Seagull Boats of Naples, FL, manufactures its products seven days per week in order to meet demand for their Seagull and Nautico boats. All-composite construction is utilized in the company's 19-ft, single-engine, full-equipped power Seagulls. In 1997, approximately 100 Seagulls were manufactured by Seagull Boats. The company's Nauticos are available in 20-ft, 18-ft, 16-ft and 14-ft versions. The 20-ft Nautico will have a deck-boat version in the near future. A full-equipped Seagull costs around $35,000, while a simple Nautico hull's price starts at $3,000.

Top position at U.S. Marine changes again

Brunswick Corp. of Lake Forest, IL, has named John Russell as the new president of its U.S. Marine Division in Arlington, WA, replacing Roger Patterson. Russell served as president of Brunswick Billiards before he was appointed to the new post at U.S. Marine. Meanwhile, according to reports, Patterson has been offered to become the company's vice president of marine asset management. In his new post, Patterson will be responsible for "developing operating synergies among the company's marine organizations."
