TiVo ad voted off 'Survivor' by CBS execs
Article Abstract:
The first of four 30-second television commercials of San Jose, CA-based, fledgling television set-top box retailer TiVo has been pulled from CBS for allegedly defaming television executives. The ad was to have been aired during CBS' program 'Survivor.' It is part of TiVo's first national direct marketing campaign and underscores the campaign's overall branding of TiVo as 'your own personal television network.' TiVo is marketing a set-top box that allows viewers to record up to 30 hours of programming as well as rewind and pause live television.
