USPS struts its e-commerce stuff at Forum

The US Postal Service showed its importance on e-commerce business during the Fall Postal Forum in Chicago, IL. The forum feature representatives from leading online businesses, mailers and the media such as Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com inc founder/CEO Jeff; Tom Adams, senior director of Internet marketing and business development at eBay; and Ed Horowitz, corporate executive vice president of e-Citi at Citigroup. The panelists were asked by Postmaster General William Henderson how the postal service is helping their businesses grow.

USPS needs $100M net
Article Abstract:
The US Postal Service must increase its net income to $100 million for fiscal 2000, accoridng to USPS Vice President of Finance John Ward. The agency is expecting to top the $300-million mark for fiscal 1999, or at least $100 million over plan. Fiscal's 1999 higher-than-expecte net income results will be reached aven after a cost of $300 million for the postal service's Y2K initiatives, said USPS Chief Financial Officer M Richard Porras.
