Wonderwall
Article Abstract:
Red Bank have developed a new prefabricated wall system which can be built quickly and gives the appearance of terracotta cladding. Rapid Build comprises of two materials, precast concrete inner-leaf wall panels made by Roger Buillivant and terracotta tiles on a aluminum support made by Red Bank. The factory made panel is delivered to the building site and LockClad tiles are attached to horizontal aluminum lock rails. They have to be fitted by trained operatives. The Rapid Build cladding less costly and take less time to install than stone and glass cladding.

Maps of the future
Article Abstract:
Geographic information systems (GISs), which can record and store information as well as manipulating data and storing 2D or 3D images, offer significant benefits for contractors and surveyors. The most basic GISs are relatively cheap, and they are becoming increasingly popular in the UK construction industry, especially among housebuilders. The Promap CD-based digital mapping system from Prodat Systems, for example, is currently used by more than 100 housebuilders and developers.
