Climatic change and deep geologic disposal of radioactive waste
Article Abstract:
Scientists should assess the future performance of waste disposal units for radioactive wastes. Radioactive wastes remain potentially dangerous for a span of 10,000 years. Scientists should determine the environmental changes that will damage the integrity of present waste disposal systems. The engineering and design of waste disposal units in deep geological areas that are not affected by climatic changes is the safest alternative for radioactive waste management.

Sliding rocks at the Racetrack, Death Valley: what makes them move?: comment and reply
Article Abstract:
Robert Sharp and Dwight Carey doubts the conclusion of John Reid Jr. and associates when they concluded that wind-driven ice sheets carried the track making stones over at Racetrack, Death Valley. Doubt is centered on the ability of the playa to support the tracks made. Reid assures the two that the formation must have had at least, 1 cm thick of fine clay that helped the wind-driven ice sheets form the tracks.

Microprobe monazite geochronology: Understanding geologic processes by integrating composition and chronology
Article Abstract:
Geochronology of monazite, a light rare earth element (LREE) bearing phosphate mineral was studied by electron microprobe. High resolution maps allow definition of domains and evaluation of growth/recrystallization textures and compositional analyses allow monazite to be integrated into reactions.
