Levi's blues
Article Abstract:
Levi Strauss originated blue jeans, and dominated the youth market for decades. However, when baggy jeans became popular, Levi's assumed it would be a passing fad. They kept the basic design of their jeans, and lost many teen consumers. Baggy jeans remain the new standard, and now Levi's is struggling to catch up to other jeans makers and recapture the market they once owned. Their strategy will involve more aggressive marketing, and innovative jeans design.
