900 MHz and 2.4GHz: call the shots

Article Abstract:

The International Consumer Electronics Show 2000 will highlight the introduction of several cordless telephones in both 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz models. Toshiba is launching a new line of cordless telephones consisting of six digital spread spectrum phones and two 2.4 GHz models. Siemens will inroduce two 2.4 GHz telephones while CIDCO Inc and TT Systems Corp will launch their 900 MHz models.

Telcom pushes multifunction

Article Abstract:

New lines of 900MHz cordless telephones are introduced by manufacturers into the market. Lucent Technologies has launched its Evercrest 900MHz chip set that will improve the range and clarity of cordless phones at lower cost. Cobra has introduced the CP-9125 and CP-9135 speakerphones with intercome and dual keypads, whiel Global Converging Technologies has offered its Cendi super cordless phone. Other new product are Casio Phonemate System Telephone, CIDCO's model CST2100 and Bellcore's new screenphones.

Manufacturers are starting to launch their respetive telecommunications products as the Consumer Electronics Show 2000 approaches. Multi-line telephones with caller ID, three-way call, transfer capability and other features include Casio PhoneMate's SI-460, SA-400 and SC-480 models; and Sony's IT-M804 model. Cordless phones that employ 2.4GHz technology and 900MHz technology have been developed by Uniden America Corp and Thomson Consumer Electronic, respectively. Meanwhile, Conairphone will unveil a corded phone, Model SW600, that features a seashell design in pearl white.
