Central Maine Power Co has changed its planning methods to better manage its transmission systems. The electric utility has implemented a policy that provides flexibility and cooperation between departments to create an optimum system.

Navstar satellites help plan transmission route

Article Abstract:

Kentucky Power Co used the Navstar GPS to survey the land through which it wanted to lay a power transmission line. Use of the satellite system greatly shortened the time normally required for installing transmission lines.
