Canon Inc's card-sized IXY Digital camera is one of the smallest, lightest models of its kind. Weighing only 190g, the camera measures 87 x57 x 16.9mm. It has the same ultra-compact design as Canon's silver-halide film cameras, yet it combines 2.11 million pixels and a 2x optical zoom. The product also features a three-point range finder and an artificially intelligent automatic focus function, and is compatible with any electronic-focus lens. It costs $3,284.

Camedia C-990Zoom digital cameras

Article Abstract:

Olympus Optical Company Ltd introduces the Camedia C-990Zoom digital camera. The product incorporates 2.11 million pixels in a 1/2.7-inch CCD and is equipped with a 3x optical zoom lens. In addition, its QuickTime Motion JPEG recording allows it to record about 15 seconds of moving images at 15 frames per second, if the scene is a 320 x 240-pixel image. As of Mar 2000, Camedia C-990Zoom digital camera is only available in Japan.
