Pioneer Electronic Corp is sponsoring an entry to the 1999 FedEx Championship F1 Series. The entry, No 24 Champ Car, will be driven by veteran driver Scott Pruett. Pioneer believes the sponsorship is a good way to make consumers more aware of the brand since the Fedex series is expected to attract three billion viewers in 190 countries worldwide. The company has been a sponsor of various motor races including the Paris- Dakar Rally, the F1 Ferrari team and the National Hot Rod Assn.

Pioneer Corp, formerly known as Pioneer Electronic Corp, will showcase its new DVD products and recordable CD and rewritable CD equipment at the Internationale Funkausstellung show in Berlin, Germany, in Sep 1999.
