Alps Electric Company Ltd has released a 17.7mm-thick photo printer that is capable of producing photo-quality prints on business card-sized paper. The PTMTL25 printer, which is designed for digital equipment operation, has an average power consumption of 4W and is compatible with a number of compact products. Alps PTMTL25 printer uses a thermal transfer technology that was derived from the company's macro-drive printer tehnology.

NEC's LaVie NX-series LW45H/24DR, -23DR

NEC Corp has unveiled the LaVie NX-Series LW45H/24DR and LW45H/23DR notebook computers. Both models operate under the 450MHz Intel Mobile Celeron processor and are equipped with recordable and rewritable compact disc drives capable of performing 4x writing. However, the LW45H/24DR has a 14.1-inch thin-film transistor LCD while the LW45H/23DR has a 13.3-inch display.

Team POS2000 terminals by Fujitsu
Article Abstract:
Fujitsu Ltd has launched its Team POS2000 standard and compact point-of- sale computer terminals. Both standard and compact models operate on 500MHz Intel Celeron processors and conform to Windows NT software. In addition, Fujitsu's debuting terminals come standard with a CD-ROM drive. The standard model retails for $8,456 while the compact model retails for $7,611.
