WV-DR7/5/9 digital S-VHS 2-deck VCRs

Article Abstract:

Sony Corp is marketing three dual-transport VCRs that include the Y210,000 WV-DR7, the Y165,000 WV-DR5 and the Y298,000 WV-DR9. Featuring a dual- transport function and a DV or Hi8 deck, the products enable users to easily edit camcorder images on VHS or Super-VHS tapes. Both the WV-DR7 and WV-DR5 models feature a built-in broadcast satellite tuner. Meanwhile, WV-DR9 allow users to control and edit images on external DV systems that include a DV camcorder, via a single i.Link cable.

JVC focuses on S-VHS ET VCRs in year-end marketing

Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC) is bolstering its marketing efforts for its S-VHS ET VCRs with the addition of four deluxe Super VHS Extended Technology models. Launched in Jun 1999 were the Y50,000 HR-V200 and the Y60,000 HR-V200, while the Y75,000 HR-VX200 and the Y100,000 HR-VXG200 models were introduced in early Sep 1999. JVC's promotions in electronics stores employ demonstration tapes to stress the superior picture quality of the new VCR models.

Mitsubishi Electric Corp has developed the HV-GX100 Hi-Fi VCR which presents images in excellent color through the use of three-dimensional noise-reduction technology. The product features triple-speed recording and guarantees the good reproduction of images from old tapes. It also enables extremely quick searches for spepcific programs. It features Super 500x-speed fast-forward and rewind operations.
