Advances in electronic scales
Article Abstract:
Early advancements in digital electronic scales started in the late 1960s and received a substantial boost from the development of the microprocessor chip in early 1970s. Today's electronic scales feature a weight sensor and accompanying electronics to digitize the sensor's output. The weight sensors usually comes from ceramic elements, hydraulic, vibrating wire and force restoration equipment. The strain gage load cell is a sensor which is often employed to convert force into a quantifiable electronic signal.

Choosing and using dial indicators
Article Abstract:
Size, travel range and resolution are the primary factors to be considered when selecting the best dial indicator for a job. Environmental conditions wherein the indicator will be used also need to be considered. In harsh stop conditions, a shock-proof model is recommended. The dial indicator is used to gauge the travel along the spindle and the displacement is indicated in the dial's face. They can also be used to measure the inside diameter of a hole.
