Continuous improvement on the free-throw line
Article Abstract:
The plan-do-study-act (PDSA) cycle can be effectively used to improve an individual's basketball shooting percentage. It is first necessary to identify any factors which may be having a negative impact on performance, such as the shooting position. Alternatives must be considered, and an action plan developed. The PDSA process places strong emphasis on gaining knowledge about the outcome of the process concerned, considering whether there is a common cause or a special cause. Adopting this approach can also considerably boost the individual's confidence.

ISO 9000 documentation: on-line or on paper?
Article Abstract:
Organizations are faced with the challenge of deciding on the use of on-line or paper ISO 9000 documentation. Several factors need to be given focus to ensure an effective process. On-line documentation costs are important considerations in determining the feasibility of the process. Hewlett Packard Co and Honeywell Limited are among the many companies which are adopting on-line documentation.
