The Four Horsemen of the urban apocalypse: there are four great evils that pervade our inner city council estate: unemployment, poverty, crime and unsustainable built environments
Article Abstract:
Inner city council estates in Britain have been undergoing facelifts during recent years and local people have occasionally been employed on the projects. However such people have returned to unemployment on completion of the project as they cannot apply the skills gained elswhere. The problems of unemployment and crime on council estates are still unsolved and they need to be addressed by creating employment training centres, the inclusion of child care centres and nurseries in estate renewal and partnership with transport agencies.

Residents are opposed to the proposal but a planning application by the club is expected soon.
