Determination of dominant facility locations with minimum noise levels for the cost contour map
Article Abstract:
An analytical technique for finding dominant locations on cost contour lines to help choose an alternative location of a new machine is introduced. A compromise between cost and ergonomic considerations is called for when placing the new machine at the dominant location, since the dominant location pertains to the location on the cost contour where there is minimum combined noise level. Of the two approaches considered, the cost-noise successive minimization model was found to be more practical and more acceptable.
