Getting rid of double standards
Article Abstract:
Revisions to the existing British Standard for lead-acid stationary cells and batteries are subject to a Standstill Agreement, awaiting the Euro Norms. The new standard relates to vented cells and batteries, and specifies five tests for capacity, battery floating operation suitability, discharge cycle endurance, short circuit resistance and charge retention. A draft IEC standard is also being prepared for valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) cells and batteries.
