Electrical contracting apprentice Paul Daultrey won the most recent heat of the UK Skill Electric competition in June 1998, which could see him entering the world finals to be held in Montreal, Canada, if he wins the overall UK competition. The competition was held over 3 days, with all elements of electrical contracting covered, such as wiring, lighting and circuit control. The judges found the competition one of the hardest to decide.

Teenagers are one of the most vulnerable victims of crime in society. Girls between the ages of 11 and 18 have become victims of sexual assault, murder and abduction despite their ability to take care of themselves. Teenagers are advised to make choices that do not put themselves at risk.
