Installing motor control drives to meet emc rules
Article Abstract:
Motor control drives generate electromagnietc emmissions and should be installed in accordance with European Community legislation on electromagnetic compatibility. In most situations it will be necessary to segregate the motor cable, to provide a dedicated earth connection and a mains filter. In cases where the drive is close to sensitive equipment or housing, further measures may be needed. These include screening the control and mains cables. Drives must also be immune to electromagnetic interference.
