Gas-liquid-mixer correlation
Article Abstract:
Gas-liquid-mixer correlation is discussed by John Von Essen, who is Director for Process Technology for Philadelphia Mixers. Gas-liquid-mixer correlation helps determine flood point in gas-liquid mixing by foreseeing the transition point of flooding. The correlation, which can be used in scale-up of mixers from laboratory testing by involving both axial- and radial-flow impellers, was developed through the help of data over a broad array of vessel sizes from 8 to 70,000 L at various gas flowrates.

Turnkey high vacuum deodorizing unit
Article Abstract:
Pope Scientific Inc of Saukville, WI, has launched its two-stage Deodorized Processing Unit which is based on its Wiped-Film technology. The system can be used in the effective deodorization of various substances such as edible oils, and in the removal of free fatty acids, water, volatile organic compounds, pesticides and sterols. The self- contained 2", 10.5-sq-ft unit is ready for turnkey deodorizing, evaporation and/or molecular distillation by itself or in combination with existing processes.
