Reengineering an engineering consultant
Article Abstract:
The experiences of a medium-to-large Midwestern consultant that underwent reengineering are investigated. An important first step for the firm was to identify and define all of its problems. The next step was to develop and implement a one-year survival plan. The final phase was the development and implementation of a formal business plan. Among the lessons learned from the reengineering effort were to maintain focus once a plan is drafted, not to expect an instant fix, use informal communications, market the reengineering plan and assign responsibility for all activities and enforce accountability.
