Sound tracks: communications are going down the tube, literally speaking at London Underground's Jubilee Line extension
Article Abstract:
London Underground's Jubilee Line extension needed to be comprehensive and highly integrated. The main systems are the station information and management systems (SIMS) which controls and monitors the supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) and communication sub systems. The central information and management system (CIMS) is a way of controlling and monitoring line based communications. There is extensive use of radio communications with optical fibre the favoured material for the new communications links.
