ISO 9000, QS-9000 take different roads
Article Abstract:
The revised ISO 9000 series of quality-management standards aims to cover sector specific requirements and account for the changes that QS-9000 must undergo as it expands. TC 176, which takes charge of IS0 9000, and the Supplier Quality Requirements Task Force have split up to focus on revising each of their standards. TC 176 is aiming to make ISO 9000 as a baseline, generic standard, formatting changes to include some of its approved interpretations into QS-9000 and combining the automotive-specific standards from France, Germany, and Italy with QS-9000.
