TQM within FORTUNE 500 corporations
Article Abstract:
FORTUNE 500 corporations lack adequate and successful implementation of total quality management (TQM) tools and techniques. Most of the corporations lack a formal quality management philosophy and program, and trained employees and management team. Many companies fail to appropriately use SPC tools, and lack additional compensation to team members for significant quality improvement. Most corporations have quality teams for organizational improvement and the quality team performance is included in an employee's performance evaluation, but the companies reflect a mixed feeling about effectiveness of TQM.
