A structural equations approach to modeling consumptive recreation demand
Article Abstract:
A dual function equation model has been used to analyze recreational fishing demand in northeastern United States. By linking a fish catch function with a pooled site demand function in a single structural model, several factors that affect fishing demand and total catch were determined. It was found out that water quality is a significant factor that determines fish catch and fishing demand. Moreover, it was found that increases in the amount of oxygen found in the water led to increases in the total consumer's surplus and decreases in the rate of turbidity. However, such environmental changes may have been affected by the water quality.

Respondent experience and contingent valuation of environmental goods
Article Abstract:
A theoretical econometric model has been used to evaluate the effect of respondent experience on the expected value of willingness to pay and its estimated variance. Through the utilization of a bivariate normal/censored normal scheme, it was found out that such experience cannot be treated as an exogenous variable, but rather as an endogenous one. It was further revealed that the estimated value of willingness to pay directly increases with additional amount of experiences. The tendency of auxiliary experiences to reduce the conditional standard deviation of the willingness to pay function was also confirmed.

Modeling recreation demand in the presence of unobservable travel costs:toward a travel price model
Article Abstract:
The development of a travel cost variable is an important factor in the application of travel cost models. An econometric approach is constructed in which the role of individual travel costs in recreational demand models can be evaluated.
