Beyond yard trimmings composting in Mexico City
Article Abstract:
The green waste composting plant in Mexico City, Mexico, has been operating successfully since 1996. So far, more than 40,000 cubic yards have been redirected and processed, thus reducing the volume of material being dumped in landfills. Composting is also playing a role in processing other types of biodegradable residuals, such as Christmas trees. It has been possible to compost a small proportion of the waste produced by the food processing industry, and compost from yard trimmings is being used in public areas, significantly boosting soil texture and plant health.

Composting yard trimmings and kitchen residuals in Baden-Baden
Article Abstract:
Inventive methods for compost management can be very useful for managers searching for solutions to odor problems without frequently turning the material which is responsible for releasing undesirable and toxic compounds in the environment. Baden-Baden has 12 months working season similar to Georgia and California. Franz Vogel has developed a technique in which incoming raw material is shredded and kept in 30 feet wide, 150 feet long and 10 feet high bricks.
