The 'Fuel the Future Bioenergy Summit' was held in New York in June 2006 to identify how to capitalize on the availability of ample biomass resources in rural areas like the North Country and the realization of sustainable, biomass-based economic activities. The summit included panel discussions on various topics as funding bioenergy projects and associated regulatory issues.

Converting sugar industry wastes into ecofriendly bioproducts
Article Abstract:
The sugar industry in India follows textile manufacturing with sugar and distillery complex generating large quantities of wastes like bagasse and filter cake. The scope for recycling these wastes in the production of compost is vast and the enormous potential that is offered in the production of compost is discussed.

Bringing bioproducts to market
Article Abstract:
Regale Corp. produces its packaging materials using 100% recycled paper via a slurry-pulp process. Resulting fiber products are dried while still in the mold with pressurized hot air. The process is also used with agricultural fiber waste such as grasses and straw.
